Google’s Recent Penguin Update

Everyone who deals in Search Engine Optimization and Digital Marketing Agency must be aware of Google’s recent update about over optimization. It is named by Google as Penguin Update. This update is basically about websites which uses spamming for marketing and also websites which are highly optimized only for SEO purpose. This update from Google has affected a large number of websites and they have faced tremendous decrease in their ranking in the SERP of Google.

•    The main target of this Penguin update is to provide search users with the best and useful results. Google will try to penalize websites which are ranking higher in SERP only due to over optimization and do not have good content in them.
•    In this update, Google will focus much on keyword rich anchor text. Google may penalize those websites who are having many backlinks with their keywords as anchor text as Google considers it spamming.
•    Google is ranking those websites which are having great content and having back links from good and relevant websites and having more natural anchor text such as ‘Click here’, Website Name, Website URL, etc.
•    This update will increase importance of Social media communities and their reviews.

Defects of Google’s Penguin Update:

The main issue with Google’s new update is that too many good and useful websites are punished only due to much use of keyword as anchor text and many low quality websites are now ranking higher.
Google’s Penguin update is still under process and Google have not yet implemented it completely. There may be more changes and surprises from Google.
